Matthias Stucki

MSc. ETH Environmental Sc.

Matthias Stucki studied environmental sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich with focus on biology and human-environment systems. In a semester thesis he carried out a utility analysis in order to evaluate different energy saving measures in households. This thesis contributed to creation of a national students energy saving project. During a four months internship in India, he accomplished a survey on the long term consequences of the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy. In his diploma thesis, he estimated the greenhouse gas emissions of the Swiss tourism sector. These results were contrasted with tourism’s added value, thus determining the ‘climate efficiency’ of tourism and its sub sectors that enables policy makers to discover economically efficient and ecologically effective starting points for greenhouse gas mitigation measures. Matthias works for ESU-services Ltd. since June 2008.
