lcafood 2010 

The lnternational Conference on LCA in the Agri-Food sector will be held in Bari - Italy - from 22 to 24 September 2010. It is the seventh in a series including Brussels (1996, 1998), Gothenburg, (2001, 2007), Horsens (2003), Zurich (2008). Niels Jungbluth is member of the scientific committee organizing this conference.

2nd International Congress on Biodiesel

Niels Jungbluth will present results concerning sustainability aspects of biodiesel during an interanational congress which will take place November, 15-17 in Munich.

Nationale Fachtagung der SGE

Niels Jungbluth will give a presentation during the Nationale Fachtagung der SGE in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Bundesamt für Landwirtschaft BLW, Agroscope und dem Bundesamt für Umwelt BAFU: "Lebensmitteleinkauf: Die Qual der Wahl Bio? Int. Conf. on LCA in the Agri-Food Sector, Zurich, November 12-14, 2008

The LCA research group of Agroscope Reckenholz-Tänikon Research Station ART organizes the Sixth International Conference on Life Cycle Assessment in the Agri-Food Sector, took place in Zurich, November 12-14, 2008. The presentations and posters from the Sixth International Conference on Life Cycle Assessment in the Agri-Food Sector are now available online on the conference web site http://www.lcafood08.ch three main objectives of the meeting were:

  • to show recent developments in terms of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, approaches, databases and tools related to the agri-food sector
  • to present applications of the LCA methodology in new case studies or case studies showing new aspects in various food- and raw material- chains (crop production, animal husbandry, fish farming, feedstuff, bio energy, etc.)
  • to present successful examples of communication of LCA results to stakeholders and their use in decision making in the agri-food sector.

ESU-services particpates in the preparation. On Friday afternoon we presented the LCA software SimaPro and databases on food in a workshop.
